Fabric Wrapped Inserts
I believe this rug was designed to go in front of a fireplace. The center is a black plush nylon carpet. Bordering it is an imitation animal skin fabric wrapped insert. The outer border is a jewel like deep red plush nylon carpet. This rug was part of a set of custom ordered rugs. The edges of the rug were bound in coordinating black and red binding. It was backed with a hardwood safe, skid resistant backing.
The beautiful octagon to the right was the crown jewel of the set. The rug measured 9ft in diameter. The center was the same jewel red as the one above. Same beautiful skin fabric insert. Same plush black carpet on the outer border. The edges were bound in black. Fabulous design!!
